10am report: Today Jeff, dads nurse had such bright positive energy. He started the conversation with ‘we are moving in the right direction’. He mentioned that they are working in turning down his oxygen - that is the main goal from day to day to ween him off the ventilator. His urine output is normal, his blood pressure and heart are both stable as well. They also are working on lessening the sedation - this is temperamental as when he stirs he is bothered by the tubes, as anyone would. The x-rays show viral pneumonia, which he knew, yet there are signs of improvement int he left lung base. Stable is good.

3pm report: Spoke with nurse Jeff again who is so positive about the way dad was doing. He mentioned that when they moved him around before dad got a bit agitated but It gave him the opportunity to suction some of the phlem from the lungs. His oxygen is once again stable, and he is resting well. This afternoon Jeff promised that he was able to bring a phone in to put up to dad’s here so we are able to let him know how much we love him and how much we need them to pull through.

6.30pm report: Dr. Mazzo has been doing a great job contacting us daily. Today he mentioned that dad is really stable with no changes and this is good news. Once again, his kidney function is a bit better. He has had no increase on the oxygen support which is positive. There is not plan as to how fast and what timing exists for that support to come down. There is nothing typical about this virus. They have even seen the tube come out with some patients at the level that dad is at now. He is not ready yet, and thats ok. So still in a critical state, but being stable allows the meds to work and the lungs to heal…

11.30pm report: So nothing to report for this evening. All markers are holding steady and he is resting comfortably. That is all we can ask for right now. Sleep well and thank you for all your support during this time..

My dog sits and waits for cars to pull up - its quiet without Dad coming over...
